DXI allows the digitalization of intermodal supply chains through the development of a common data hub for the information technology mapping of the entire physical transport chain.
The basis for smooth data exchange is the agreement of the project partners to use a uniform data standard, the EDIGES format. All transport information, from timetables and bookings to terminal and train status reports and arrival forecasts, can be exchanged electronically.
In order to further develop the hub into a marketable product, a new independent operating company DX Intermodal GmbH has been founded, which will serve as a neutral data broker. In future, all players in combined transport will have access to standardized transport data across the entire transport chain with just one interface.
